The Allegan Chamber of Commerce has named Allegan Area Educational Service Agency (AAESA) Superintendent Mark Dobias the Education Professional of the Year for 2015. The award was presented at the Chamber’s annual Evening of Recognition on February 25th.
For the past eight years as Superintendent, Mr. Dobias has exemplified AAESA's vision to be a partner in education, leadership and service. He has worked tirelessly toward the establishment of the Allegan County Early College. He is a true believer in and champion of early childhood education. He believes in continuously improving the services and programs at AAESA to best meet the needs of the local districts. Mr. Dobias' leadership extends to the regional and state level as well. He is an approachable, visible leader who might be seen raking leaves with Outlook Strict Discipline Academy students, talking sports with the Young Adult Campus' Snack Attack team, reading a book to a preschooler in the GSRP program or chatting up a baby in the STAR Family Literacy program. Mr. Dobias is an educational professional that is truly making a difference.
An Evening of Recognition celebrates individuals, organizations, and businesses that represent the best of Allegan.
