The Technical Education Center offers 14 technical training programs as well as vocational training opportunities for students with special needs.
Our instructors are vocationally certified in the fields they teach and many serve as adjunct instructors for Lake Michigan College. This provides our students with an opportunity to earn direct college credit while studying with us.
The Tech Center programs provide many unique opportunities:
Hands-on training in a variety of technical fields
Center-wide employability and leadership curriculum
Career exploration and planning
Work-based learning opportunities
Articulation agreements with many Michigan colleges
Direct college credit
Federal Carl D. Perkins legislation requires all Career and Technical Education programs to monitor student and program performance. Each Career and Technical Education program has core performance measures in each of the following areas:
Graduation Rate
Reading/Language Arts
Math Attainment
Science Attainment
Placement
Non-Traditional Concentration
Program Quality
