In late October, several Plainwell High School students had the opportunity to attend the Schools to Tools Mobile Field Trip. Plainwell was the first stop for the program, which is run by the Michigan Regional Council of Carpenters and Millwrights. Throughout the experience, students were introduced to various trades through hands-on carpenter/millwright stations and virtual reality experiences in the Schools to Tools 44’ mobile trailer. Students were also able to ask questions and learn more about the Michigan Regional Council of Carpenters and Millwrights as several tradesmen were onsite to offer information on these career opportunities. It was an amazing experience and informative “field trip” for the Trojans to learn about these post-high school opportunities.
