Four Hopkins chapter members received high recognition at the National FFA Convention by earning a silver medal and placing 27th in the National Farm and Agribusiness Management Contest. Emily Coffey, Kaden Petroshus, Colby Tucker, and Logan Welch won the state contest which qualified them to represent MI at the national level.  The contest consisted of a three hour written exam and a 90 minute team activity to demonstrate their skills.

The National FFA Farm and Agribusiness Management Career Development Event provides competition that fosters information assimilation, critical thinking and problem-solving skills necessary for successful business management. The skills learned in this event can be used to successfully manage a farm, agribusiness, pursue agricultural business careers and can be applied to personal financial management. The National FFA Farm and Agribusiness Management Career Development Event enhances and encourages opportunities for all participants to receive instruction that develops business management and entrepreneurial skills.

Additionally, the Hopkins FFA Chapter was recognized at the national convention for their outstanding program of activities as a part of the National Chapter Awards program.  Hopkins was previously recognized as the state winner back in March at the MI State FFA Convention.
