Hillside Learning Center is excited to announce the reopening of its new redesigned accessible playground, aimed to provide a safe and inclusive environment that is engaging for all students. This innovative playground allows every child the ability to thrive by incorporating inclusive activities to allow for learning and fun.
Allegan Area ESA partnered with Sinclair Recreation out of Holland, Michigan to create a stimulating play environment that removes barriers and builds self-esteem while allowing families to spend time together playing. Through sensory-stimulating activities and free, unstructured play, children will learn to play and grow.
The new playground features a variety of equipment and play structures designed to meet the needs of children of all abilities. Some highlights include adaptive swings, accessible ramps, sensory wave spinning seat and climber, along with a braille panel, rock with me glider, and safety surface upgrades that are ADA compliant.
Allegan Area ESA Superintendent Bill Brown expressed the importance of the new playground, stating, “This playground aligns with our vision to ensure every learner, school, and community thrives. This is a prime example of our efforts to serve our students and community. We believe that every child deserves the opportunity to play, learn, and grow in an environment that embraces their needs.”
