Meet McKenzi Bowen, a shining star from the Allegan Area ESA Transition Center! 🌟 McKenzi recently celebrated her 1-year anniversary of working independently at the bakery inside Harding’s Market in Plainwell.
As the only student currently working solo, McKenzi has proven her dedication, independence, and drive by excelling in her role. She packages baked goods, including the ever-popular cookies, and continues to take on new responsibilities as her skills grow.
Her teacher, Tina Kofecas, shared, “McKenzi’s initiative and work ethic are incredible. She’s a self-directed worker who sees what needs to be done and gets it done!”
McKenzi’s journey highlights the power of vocational skills and community-based learning in preparing students for independence and success. Her story is a testament to what’s possible when we work together to unlock potential.
